song reminds me of the poem "Dreams" by Edgar Allan Poe. In the song, James Blunt knew that it was over before it began, but
still says that the girl was the one for him. In Poe's poem he talks about how it is better to know the cold reality that
the fake setting of a dream. Poe was happy like he was in a dream, and he talks about how only the "delirious eye" knows love
in paradise. Poe repeats the words happiness and dreams a lot. James Blunt's song is saying goodby to the woman he loves.
He talks about how she took his dreams, and in a way, Edgar's dreams of happiness was taken when the people he loved died.

I put this song on here because it reminded me of Poe himself. There are many parts of this song
that coincide with Poe's life from the first line. "Of the brightest hour of my darkest day." This sums up Poe's life. His
whole life has been dark, but his brightest hour was with his wife when he wasn't drinking as much. There is also evidence
he was into some drugs, and he was swooning after three different women after his wife died. This song also talks about letting
someone go even though he'll always have his feelings for her.
